Here is what some of our charitable partners say about the profound and lasting impact the HOPE for Youth Foundation is having in our community and on the children they serve.

Helping Kids with Cancer and their Families

Most recently, a Hope for Youth Foundation grant has enabled Friends of Karen to engage a highly skilled, creative, compassionate child life specialist to work one-on-one with young siblings of a child with cancer or other life threatening illness. These children, so traumatized by their brother’s or sister’s illness, gain strength and coping skills to help them at this tremendously difficult time.

For the Love of Nature

Your generous donation to Teatown Lake Reservation's No Child Left Inside (NCLI) program has made it possible for thousands of students from lower income communities to take field trips to Teatown where they spend time outdoors, immersed in nature, to learn about science and ecology.

Service Dogs for Kids with Autism

BluePath Service Dogs has been able to grow our program with your support so that we can provide more life-changing autism service dogs to children and their families. Our dogs keep children with autism safe, while offering companionship and the opportunity for independence as they mature.

Classroom to Community Employment for Students with Disabilities

Support from the Foundation allows us to provide ongoing support to hundreds of students through our High School Transition program. This unique curriculum provides students with disabilities soft skills and job skill training so they are able to transition successfully from the classroom to community employment.

Homework Booster Lab

Honor students from the Putnam Valley High School serve as tutors and peer models in our homework booster lab for middle school students and teach them how to study and to value their academic work. Students who participate in the booster lab raise their grades and develop self-esteem that comes with accomplishment.

Making Kids' Wishes Come True

All who support the Hope For Youth Foundation are truly making a difference in the lives of our wish kids and their families.

Chromebooks for Kids with Special Needs

The grants have enabled us to purchase Chromebooks for use in Saint Dominic's School, which serves needy children with disabilities who may be autistic, and have physical and emotional handicaps. The Chromebook tablet enables the teacher to individualize instruction, while monitoring the progress of all students in the class simultaneously. Your support has made a great difference in the lives of our children.

Equestrian Therapy

Equestrian Therapy helps abused and traumatized youth develop self-esteem, increase communication and socialization skills and build trust. The HOPE for Youth Foundation is helping to improve the lives of vulnerable youth on and is providing them with powerful and liberating experiences that will lead to healing and growth.

The Performance of a Lifetime

The HFYF made it possible to bring 58 underprivileged children with their guardians from Peekskill, NY to the Lincoln Center in New York City to see an extraordinary, uplifting concert. featuring children performing on a stage along with New York City’s top professional musicians. It was a life-changing experience for these children, many of whom have now signed up to take part in a free after school music program in Peekskill.

After School Programs

Our Kids Express and Magic of Music after-school programs have served hundreds of children every year in the Yorktown, Lakeland and Somers school districts. Through fun, creative activities, SPARC professionals guide the children to develop positive character building skills and ways to handle socially challenging situations. The Foundation’s support has kept family fees affordable, provided scholarships and helped us access professional staff for these popular and successful programs.
